Southern Records came up with this great idea of Latitudes series partly in reverance of Southern recording studio where many incredible bands have recorded (Sonic Youth, Bauhaus, PJ Harvey, Shellac, The Jesus And Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine...)
The principe is to offer their favourite bands (ARIEL PINK'S HAUNTED, WHITE MAGIC, CIRCLE, GINNUNGAGAP, THE BLACK DEER...) - many of them passing through London as part ot their tour - the opportunity to spend some time recording something spontaneous, collaborative, fun or experimental in their studio around a same concept : Latitude*.
The success story continues with an amazing 15 minutes session recordings by Gang Gang Dance.

*Latitude / la-ti-tyood/ n. 1 the distance of a place north or south of the equator. 2 (latitudes) regions with reference to their temperature and distance from the eq uator: southern latitudes. 3 scope for freedom or thought, Origin latitudo 'breadth'.
